On December 4, 2018 the USAID and LCIF Children with Visual Impairments Project organized a training designed for teachers from elementary schools from Skopje region. This is the forth workshop organized for regular school teachers, 15th in a row in 2018 to promote inclusive education in mainstream schools for visually impaired children.
Over 10 teachers from inclusive teams participated on the one-day training, where useful information was exchanged regarding the inclusion process for visually impaired students in mainstream schools. The training covered the following topics:
The inclusion process in Republic of Macedonia, the role of the Resource Centers in the inclusion process, characteristics of the visually impaired students, working with visually impaired students, Individual Educational Plans.
After the training, the participants in cooperation with special educators from their respective schools, parents and CwVI team will compile and submit Individual Educational Plan for all students with visual impairments.
