On June 7, 2018 the Children with Visual Impairments (CwVI) Project organized a workshop for over 25 special educators on topics related to working with students with visual impairments and their inclusion in mainstream education. All participants are special educators from mainstream schools and work with children with special needs.
The training session covered topics related to process of inclusion in education in Macedonia, the role of the Resource Centers in the inclusive process, characteristics of CwVI, evaluation of functional sight, guiding visually impaired persons, work strategies with CwVI and individual educational plans.
The USAID and LCIF CwVIP training workshops in cooperation with the Union of special educators of Macedonia and the Ministry of Education and Science of Macedonia, targeting special educators, teachers and parents of children with special needs all over Macedonia. The workshops enable the special educators and mainstream schools to offer better services to children with special needs, and promote the Resource Centers in the 5 cities among mainstream schools as main carrier of the inclusive educational process.
